MRI scanners are complex diagnostic imaging machines that provide very crisp anatomical images to help clinicians provide accurate diagnosis. That said, getting an MRI scan can be time consuming, loud and uncomfortable for the patient. For many people, it can be a daunting experience. In order to design the next generation of MR technology, the Philips Experience Design team not only looked at how to leverage incredible advancements in technology, but also looked at the holistic patient and clinician experiences. The Philips Experience Design team used tools like workflow schematics and usability analysis, to gather insights from diverse studies, hospital visits and patient involvement. They identified pain points of their users to ensure they solved them by designing meaningful solutions, resulting in faster exam set up, intuitive access to patient and staff information and a super comfortable patient exam.
